Days 1 – 3 ~ Hanoi & Ha Long Bay
Days 4 – 6 ~ Saigon, Cu Chi & Mekong Delta
This morning we fly to Saigon and begin with an orientation walk to visit some of the city’s most interesting sites. We then travel to Cho Lon, the bustling Chinatown District, and home to one of the city’s business markets for a look at the incredible array of vegetables, herbs, spices and tropical fruit on offer. The next morning we enjoy a cooking class with a local chef who will explain more about the wonderful flavours of Vietnamese cuisine. Travel to the fascinating Cu Chi tunnels, then explore the Mekong Delta’s lush river networks. We finish our stay in Saigon with dinner at one of the city’s tastiest local restaurants.
Days 7 – 10 ~ Temples of Angkor
Take the short flight to Siem Reap, doorstep to the remarkable Angkor temple complex. Venture into the centre of the ancient Khmer city with an indepth exploration of the enchanting Bayon towers and see the world’s largest religious structure, Angkor Wat, at both sunset and sunrise. We take in other temple highlights, including jungle-enveloped Ta Prohm, left as it was found by French explorers more than 100 years ago. Also visit Banteay Srei – this exquisite temple is a showpiece of delicate, perfectly preserved carvings. On day 10 our journey to three of Asia’s most remarkable cities ends with an airport transfer.
