Vientiane - Luang Prabang 4days

The democratic Republic of Lao is located in the center of Indochina, sharing borders with China to north west, Thailand to west, Cambodia to the south, and Vietnam to the east. Laos has a population of a bout 5,5 millions inhabitants and make up of 48 different ethnic groups with an are of 236,800 square kilometres.Around 70 % of its terrain is mountainous reaching a maximum elevation of 2,820 m in Xieng Khuang province. The landscapes of northern LaosVietnam in particular are dominated by hills. The Mekong river is the main geographical feature in the west and in fact, from a natural border with Thailand and some areas. The Mekong flows through nearly 1,900 km of Laos. In the south the Mekong reaches a breadth of 14 km, creating an area with thousands of land. Day 1. Arrival in Vientiane
Greeting by our Laotian guide and transfer for hotel check-in. Afternoon visit to Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple still standing in Vientiane. Wat Ho Prakeo, once the home of the revered Emerald Buddha. That Luang Stupa, reputed to hold a sacred relic of the Lord Buddha. Pratuxai Victory Gate for overview of the surrounding city. Dinner and overnight in Vientiane. 

Day 2. Vientiane - Luang Prabang
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport for morning flight to Luang Prabang. Boat cruise along the Mekong River to visit Pak Ou (Tham Ting) cave - a mystical pigrimage site above the river. Over the past five centuries, kings, princes, merchants, and peasants have come to the caves to worship, leaving behind more than 3,000 statues of the Buddha. Along the way visit Ban Sang Hai where they make traditional sticky rice liquor.  Then continue to visit Wat Xieng Thong, Wat Mai, Wat Visoun, Wat Prabath. Dinner and overnight in Luang Prabang. 

Day 3. Luang Prabang
Breakfast at hotel.  Visit to Khuang Si Waterfall, visit villages en route.  Return to town, visit Santi Chedi Stupa and Banh Phanom village, hill tribe H’Mong village on the way back to Luang Prabang.  Afternoon visit to the old Royal Palace, National Museum which was once home to the monarchy of old Laos.  Afternoon climb up to Phousi Mountain for a great view of the city and the two rivers. Dinner and overnight in Luang Prabang. 

Day 4. Luang Prabang - Departure
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to airport for your departure flight.

Day 1. Arival in Vientiane
Greeting by our guide at the airport, tranfer to hotel for check-in. Afternoon city tour including the Great Sacred Stupa - That Luang, Wat Phra Keow, Wat  Sisaket and the morning market. Overnight in Vientiane. 

Day 2. Vientiane - Luang Prabang
After breakfast, transfer to airport for flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, transfer to a hotel.  Afternoon  explore the beautiful town, visiting Wat Visounalat, known as “the Watermelon Stupa”; the ornate Wat Mai; and Wat Xieng Thong, an exquisite 400-year-old royal monastery complex.  Late afternoon, climb Phousi Hill to view the sunset over the Mekong River and mountains. Overnight in Luang Prabang. 

Day 3. Luang Prabang

Early morning see long lines of barefoot monk in procession through the streets of Luang Prabang. Afterwards travel up the Mekong by motor boat to the Pak Ou Caves, a mystical pigrimage site above the river. Morning visit the Royal Palace, the National Museum, continue visit to H’mong ang K’hmu villages, a weaving village and the Kuang Si Waterfalls. Return to the town. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Vientiane. Overnight in Vientiane . 

Day 5. Vientiane - Departure
After breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Day 1. Arrival in Vientiane

Afternoon, visit Vat Sisaket - built from the 16trh century and more than ten thousand Buddha statues can be seen in the niches, Hophrakeo enshrined Emerald Buddha from the early time of Lane Xang Kingdom until 18th century, Patouxai known as the unknown soldier monument and That Luang Stupa where is the most important tourist attraction of Vientiane from the 16th century. Dinner at overnight in Vientiane. 

Day 2. Vientiane sightseeing
After breakfast, visit morning market - the central shopping of Vientiane and the most famous  weaving village - Ban Nong Bouathong, Vat Ong Tu and Vat Inpeng. Lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon, excursion by car to visit the Buddha Park of Xiengkhouane. Enroute, stop over to visit the Friendship bridge over Mekong river between Laos and Thailand, the cultural ethnic Park near by the friendship bridge and return to the city for watching sunset on the bank of Mekong river. Dinner and overnight in Vientiane. 

Day 3. Vientiane - Vang Vieng (160km)
Breakfast at hotel, excursion by car to Vang Vieng on Road No 10 and stop over to visit traditional salt attraction at Ban Keune, sticky rice wine distillation at Ban Pak Khayoung. Lunch at a local restaurant near Nam Ngum lake. After lunch, continue on driving to Vang Vieng. Enroute, stop over to visit Ban Thaheua where local fishermen batering and exchanging merchandises. Arrive in Vang Vieng before sunset and transfer directly to hotel for check in. Dinner and overnight in Vang Vieng.

Day 4. Vang Vieng - Luang Prabang (250km)
After breakfast, visit Tham Chang where you can see the view of Vang Vieng as well as its beautiful landscape. Then transfer to Luang Prabang. Enroute, enjoy seeing its beautiful landscape with some stop for photograph. Lunch at a local restaurant in Mouang Phoukhoune. After lunch, continue on excursion to Luang Prabang and stop over to visit minority villages of H'Mong at Ban Phoudam, Khmou village at Ban Kiou Taloune, and Ban Kiou Ya. Arrive in Luang Prabang before sunset and transfer directly to hotel for check in. Dinner and overnight in Luang Prabang. 

Day 5. Luang Prabang full day tour and sightseeing.
Breakfast at hotel, visit Vat Visoune where only one special Lao Lu architecture of Shim as well as Water Melon stupa can be seen, Vat Aham enshrined Pou Yeu / Ya Yeu puppets of Lao ancestors, Phousi hill for overlooking the view of the city and Vat Mai Souvannaphoummarame where was residence of Lao patriarch before 1975. Lunch at a local restaurant in town. Afternoon, visit Vat Sene, Vat Xieng Thong the most beautiful temple of Luang Prabang where was built from the 16th century and watch sunset at Vat Phabath Tai. Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 6. Luang Prabang - Pak Ou caves.
After breakfast at hotel, transfer to local pier of Luang Prabang to embark traditional boat to the sacred Buddha caves of Pak Ou. Enroute, stop over to visit Ban Xang Hai where sticky rice wine distillation can be seen. Lunch at a local restaurant at Ban Pak Ou. After lunch, visit the sacred Buddha caves of Tham Ting and Thamphoum where housing a hundred of Buddha statues. Return to Luang Prabang to continue on visiting Ban Xangkhong the weaving village of Luang Prabang style. Dinner and overnight in Luang Prabang. 

Day 7. Luang Prabang - Kouangsi Water Fall
Transfer to Kouangsi Water Fall. On the way, stop over to visit the minority villages of H'Mong at Ban Na Ouane, Lao Loum village at Ban Xome or Ban Ou, and Khmou village at Ban Tha Pene near by the water fall. Picnic lunch near the water fall or at a local restaurant near by. Afternoon, return to Luang Prabang for dinner and overnight.

Day 8. Luang Prabang - Departure
Breakfast at hotel, visit National Museum the former Royal King's Palace, central market of Luang Prabang. Lunch at hotel and free time till transfer to the airport for your departure flight.

Day 1. Arrival in Vientiane

Day 2. Vientiane - Xieng Khoang
Free until transfer to the airport for domestic flight to Phonsavan, Xieng Khoang Province. Meet by local guide and transfer to hotel for check in. Proceed by car or van to visit the first and second site of the Plain of Jars. Afternoon, 32 km drive to visit the old capital of Xieng Khouang - home to  some ethnic of H’mong. Return to town in late afternoon. Accommodation at hotel.

 Day 3. Xieng Khoang
Drive to Muong Kham to the natural hot spring water 64 km. On the way stop at minority villages to see their everyday life at Thajok village and visit Tham Piou cave. Return to Phonsavanh in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel.

 Day 4. Xieng Khoang - Luang Prabang
Visit local market of Phonsavanh. Free until transfer to the airport for flight to Luang Prabang. Upon arrival at Luang Prabang airport, transfer to hotel for check in. Afternoon, visit main highlights of Luang Prabang: Vat Visoune, Vat Aham, Phousi hill for overlooking the view of Luang Prabang and Vat Mai Souvannaphoumaram, Vat Xieng Thong - the most beautiful temple of Luang Prabang and National Museum known as former Royal King’s Palace. Overnight at hotel

 Day 5. Luang Prabang
Transfer to local pier of Luang Prabang to embark traditional boat trip up on the stream of Mekong River to visit Pak Ou caves. En route, stop over to visit Ban Xang Hai where distillation sticky rice wine can be seen. Then visit the sacred Buddha cave where the thousand Buddha images can be seen and return to Luang Prabang to continue visiting Ban Phanom, near by Henri Mouhot’s tomb, the weaving village of Lao Lu textiles. Overnight at hotel in town.

 Day 6. Luang Prabang - Vientiane
Visit Ban Xang Khong, a weaving and handmade mulberry paper’s village. Free until transfer to domestic airport to fly to to Vientiane. Pick up and transfer to visit the Morning Market with Laos handicraft products, silk, gold, antique silver. See the sunset on the bank of Mekong River. Overnight at hotel.

 Day 7. Vientiane - Departure
Transfer to airport for your departure flight.
