Sapa trekking (4 days / 5 nights)

Sapa, nestling in a beautiful valley on the border with China, is northwest Vietnam’s most colourful destination. Vivid green rice terrace are sculpted into the mountain sides while in the fields H’mong and Dao and other ethnic minorities trek into town from the surrounding countryside to trade goods at the weekend markets in Sapa, Bac Ha
Sapa and its environs has some of the best trekking in Vietnam and there are many ethnic minority villages that can be reached in day treks, for a real hill tribe experience it is possible to stay overnight in local villages along the way. Come to Sapa to experience the spectacular scenery, the feeling of being welcomed by the ethnic minority people here.    

Night 1. 21.00 our guide will pick you up from your hotel in the Old Quaters. Transfer to the railway station for a night train SP1 to Lao Cai, departure at 21.20. Stay overnight on the train.

Day 1. Lao Cai - Sapa - Hau Thao (B, L, D)
AM : 05.05 arrive in Lao Cai. Our guide will pick you up at Lao Cai station then transfer to Sapa . Check in and have breakfast in the hotel before the trip starts .We walk along the main road for a while then take a small path up hill to get to Hau Thao village of the Black H'Mong tribe. The trek brings you through the upper mountain rage of Sapa overlooking down to its valley. Our guide will prepare lunch in a local house while you walk around the village to meet the tribe and visit their catholic church. After lunch the guide take you back to Sapa on a different way which goes further to the other side the mountain. Dinner and overnight at hotel. (App .7 hours trekking-12 km. Accommodation: hotel) 

 sapa2Day 2. Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai (B, L, D)Have breakfast and check out before the trip starts. Trek down to Lao Chai village to visit the Tay and Day tribes. Have a picnic lunch on the way then keep going along the bottom of the Sapa valley to get to Ta Van village, which is supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area. Afterward you head up to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zdao tribe where you will see the amazing scenery and beautiful waterfall. Stay overnight in a local family. (App. 7 hours trekking-18 km. Accommodation : homestay)

Day 3. Giang Ta Chai - Ban Ho - Sapa (B, L, D)
Rise up early in the morning for breakfast then head to Ban Ho. You will trek up and down hills through a jungle and pass the Muong Hoa River and waterfall. Ban Ho village where you have lunch there live the Tay tribe with their special wooden house on stilts will amaze you, let alone the peaceful scenery and friendly people. And the last 45 min. Climbing up hill to get to the waiting point is really a challenge for you. You get back to Sapa by motorbike/jeep.

Day 4. Sapa - Cat Cat - Sin Chai village - Lao Cai station (B, L, D)

Breakfast in hotel, the rest of the morning is free to explore the town on your own. After lunch you check out and leave your luggage in the hotel then get yourself ready before heading down to Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages of Black H'Mong tribe. Enjoy the waterfall in Cat Cat and beautiful scenery along the way. Back to Sapa and get fresh with a shower in the hotel's day room then transfer to Lao Cai station for the night train departure at 20.35 to Hanoi.  (App 4 hours trekking - 8 km. Accommodation: Overnight train)

Day 5. Arrive in Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi at 04.20. End of the tour.

  • English-speaking guide, entrance fees, security permits;
  • Train tickets Hanoi - Laocai - Hanoi (hard sleeper with air-conditioning);
  • Meals as mentioned in the program (4 breakfasts, 4 lunches, 4 dinners);
  • Transportation : jeep goes and backs as the program (motorbike for group of 1 person)

Insurance, drinks, phone calls and other private expenses.

Notes :
You are recomemded to take good walking shoes, raincoats, jackets, torch, insect repellent; USD 10 per person is added for soft sleeper 2ways.
