Sapa and Mai Chau



Mai Chau trekking (2 days/ 1 night )

Mai Chau is a beautiful place and some have called it “another Sapa”. Mai Chau itself is very rural with no real downtown rather, it is a collection of villages, farms and huts spread out over a large area. The most interesting thing to do here is trekking through Thai village. This tour give you a chance to visit and understand customs of  the Thai people.

Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau
AM: Pick up at your hotel and depart to Mai Chau. Visit Hoa Binh hydroelectricity – the biggest one in Vietnam. Take a boat trip on Da river to enjoy wonderful scenery, explore Thac Bo grotto, villages of Muong, Dao people. Have traditional lunch on boat – specially served with “Lam rice” cooked in Bamboo tube.
PM: Arrival at Bai Sang wharf. Car trip to Mai Chau, visit Lac, PomCoong villages. Trek to see “Tho Cam” – the unique product of Thai people, house on stilts and Thai customs. Dinner and enjoy traditional music. Over night in house on stilts. 

Day 2: Mai Chau – Hanoi
AM: Breakfast. Visit Xa Linh village (Black H’Mong), which is 35 km far from Mai Chau where you will have chance to learn about their customs, culture and witness the daily life. Back to Mai Chau. Have lunch.
PM: Return to Hanoi with stop on the way for taking photos of beautiful scenery in this mountainous area. Arrive in Hanoi. Tour finishes.

  • Accommodation: House on stilts at Lac village – Mai Chau.

Notes: 

  • It’s optional to travel from Hoa Binh to Mai Chau by boat or road trip.
  • Take your hat, raincoat, good shoes and towel for trekking.
  • Take your passport for stay registration.
  • Inform in advance if you are vegetarian.
  • Car: Air – condition will be off while driving up pass.
 

Sapa trekking (4 days / 5 nights)

Sapa, nestling in a beautiful valley on the border with China, is northwest Vietnam’s most colourful destination. Vivid green rice terrace are sculpted into the mountain sides while in the fields H’mong and Dao and other ethnic minorities trek into town from the surrounding countryside to trade goods at the weekend markets in Sapa, Bac Ha
Sapa and its environs has some of the best trekking in Vietnam and there are many ethnic minority villages that can be reached in day treks, for a real hill tribe experience it is possible to stay overnight in local villages along the way. Come to Sapa to experience the spectacular scenery, the feeling of being welcomed by the ethnic minority people here.    

Night 1. 21.00 our guide will pick you up from your hotel in the Old Quaters. Transfer to the railway station for a night train SP1 to Lao Cai, departure at 21.20. Stay overnight on the train.

Day 1. Lao Cai - Sapa - Hau Thao (B, L, D)
AM : 05.05 arrive in Lao Cai. Our guide will pick you up at Lao Cai station then transfer to Sapa . Check in and have breakfast in the hotel before the trip starts .We walk along the main road for a while then take a small path up hill to get to Hau Thao village of the Black H'Mong tribe. The trek brings you through the upper mountain rage of Sapa overlooking down to its valley. Our guide will prepare lunch in a local house while you walk around the village to meet the tribe and visit their catholic church. After lunch the guide take you back to Sapa on a different way which goes further to the other side the mountain. Dinner and overnight at hotel. (App .7 hours trekking-12 km. Accommodation: hotel) 

 sapa2Day 2. Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai (B, L, D)Have breakfast and check out before the trip starts. Trek down to Lao Chai village to visit the Tay and Day tribes. Have a picnic lunch on the way then keep going along the bottom of the Sapa valley to get to Ta Van village, which is supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area. Afterward you head up to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zdao tribe where you will see the amazing scenery and beautiful waterfall. Stay overnight in a local family. (App. 7 hours trekking-18 km. Accommodation : homestay)

Day 3. Giang Ta Chai - Ban Ho - Sapa (B, L, D)
Rise up early in the morning for breakfast then head to Ban Ho. You will trek up and down hills through a jungle and pass the Muong Hoa River and waterfall. Ban Ho village where you have lunch there live the Tay tribe with their special wooden house on stilts will amaze you, let alone the peaceful scenery and friendly people. And the last 45 min. Climbing up hill to get to the waiting point is really a challenge for you. You get back to Sapa by motorbike/jeep.

Day 4. Sapa - Cat Cat - Sin Chai village - Lao Cai station (B, L, D)

Breakfast in hotel, the rest of the morning is free to explore the town on your own. After lunch you check out and leave your luggage in the hotel then get yourself ready before heading down to Cat Cat and Sin Chai villages of Black H'Mong tribe. Enjoy the waterfall in Cat Cat and beautiful scenery along the way. Back to Sapa and get fresh with a shower in the hotel's day room then transfer to Lao Cai station for the night train departure at 20.35 to Hanoi.  (App 4 hours trekking - 8 km. Accommodation: Overnight train)

Day 5. Arrive in Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi at 04.20. End of the tour.

Day 1. Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van (B, L, D)

AM :07.30 arrive Lao Cai , our guide will pick you up at Lao Cai Station then transfer to Sapa. Have breakfast and shower in hotel before the trip starts .Treking to Lao Chai village to visit the Tay and Day tribes. Have a picnic lunch on the way then keep going along he bottom of the Sapa valley to get to Ta Van village, which is supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area, where you stay overnight in a local family. (Approximately 7 hours trekking 15 km  -  Accommodation : Home-stay)

Day 2. Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Sapa (B, L, D)sapa6
After breakfast, we start the trip by heading up to visit Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zdao tribe where you will have a picnic lunch. Continue our trip to experience the amazing sceneries and beautiful waterfall before going up to the main road where you will be picked up by motorbike/jeep. Back to Sapa and you might stop some times on the way to take photos of the fabulous valley of Sapa. Dinner in the hotel. Stay overnight in Sapa.
(pproximately : 6 hours trekking - 12 kms -  Accommodation : hotel)

Day 3. Sapa - Cat Cat - Sin Chai - Lao Cai station (B, L, D)
Breakfast in hotel, the rest of the morning is free to explore the town on your own. After breakfast, you check out and leave your luggage in the hotel,  get ready for the trip. Trek down to Lao Chai village to visit the Tay and Day tribes then keep going along the bottom of the Sapa valley to get to Ta Van village, which is supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area. Have a picnic lunch on the way. You go back to Sapa by motorbike/jeep.

 Get yourself fresh with a shower in the hotels day room before transfer to Lao Cai railway station for the night train SP2 departure at 20.35 to Hanoi

Approximately :7 hours trekking - 15 kms - Accommodation: Overnight on train.

Day 3. Arrive in Hanoi
Arrive in Hanoi at 04.20. End of the tour.
