Mai Chau is a beautiful place and some have called it “another Sapa”. Mai Chau itself is very rural with no real downtown rather, it is a collection of villages, farms and huts spread out over a large area. The most interesting thing to do here is trekking through Thai village. This tour give you a chance to visit and understand customs of the Thai people.
Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau
AM: Pick up at your hotel and depart to Mai Chau. Visit Hoa Binh hydroelectricity – the biggest one in Vietnam. Take a boat trip on Da river to enjoy wonderful scenery, explore Thac Bo grotto, villages of Muong, Dao people. Have traditional lunch on boat – specially served with “Lam rice” cooked in Bamboo tube.
PM: Arrival at Bai Sang wharf. Car trip to Mai Chau, visit Lac, PomCoong villages. Trek to see “Tho Cam” – the unique product of Thai people, house on stilts and Thai customs. Dinner and enjoy traditional music. Over night in house on stilts.
Day 2: Mai Chau – Hanoi
AM: Breakfast. Visit Xa Linh village (Black H’Mong), which is 35 km far from Mai Chau where you will have chance to learn about their customs, culture and witness the daily life. Back to Mai Chau. Have lunch.
PM: Return to Hanoi with stop on the way for taking photos of beautiful scenery in this mountainous area. Arrive in Hanoi. Tour finishes.

Notes:
- It’s optional to travel from Hoa Binh to Mai Chau by boat or road trip.
- Take your hat, raincoat, good shoes and towel for trekking.
- Take your passport for stay registration.
- Inform in advance if you are vegetarian.
- Car: Air – condition will be off while driving up pass.


Day 2. Sapa - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai (B, L, D)Have breakfast and check out before the trip starts. Trek down to Lao Chai village to visit the Tay and Day tribes. Have a picnic lunch on the way then keep going along the bottom of the Sapa valley to get to Ta Van village, which is supposed to be the most beautiful one in the area. Afterward you head up to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zdao tribe where you will see the amazing scenery and beautiful waterfall. Stay overnight in a local family. (App. 7 hours trekking-18 km. Accommodation : homestay)
